The English Language Institute (ELI) at Youngstown State University does not offer financial assistance to students. Each student requesting sponsorship for an F-1 or J-1 visa must show that enough financial support is available for one academic year (nine months) of study. The minimum estimated amount of money necessary for one academic year (Fall and Spring Semesters Only) is $13,561. This amount includes tuition and required fees, book/supplies, insurance, and living expenses.
Please check the sources of financial support you will have while attending the English Language Institute at Youngstown State University.
- Personal funds. With your application enclose a translated financial statement on official bank letterhead signed by a bank official showing a translated current bank balance.
- Funds from relatives or another personal sponsor. With your application enclose a translated financial statement on official bank letterhead signed by a bank official showing a translated current bank balance.
- Government or private sponsor. With your application enclose a translated signed copy of your award from the sponsoring agency.
