What You'll Study

Many of today's languages, including English, Italian, Spanish and French, evolved from the ancient Latin language. Latin root words make up some of the terms we use in theology, biology, medicine.

After a detailed study of the grammar, you'll begin reading texts in the original Ancient Greek language. The texts chosen are based on your specific interests. You will have the opportunity to read authors such as Vergil, Catullus, Caesar and Pliny. Minors may also elect to do coursework that focuses on the history of ancient Rome.
