Youngstown State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. During spring semester 2008, we completed the two-year self-study required for continuing accreditation, plus a site visit from the Higher Learning Commission February 18-20, 2008. The Commission granted continuing accreditation on July 3, 2008.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the self-study process, and special thanks to the five criteria committees, the three subcommittees, and the Steering Committee and committee chairs who helped make the self-study a success. Links to the completed self-study documents and the site-team findings appear on the resources page of this web site.
Thank you to all who participated in discussions of draft strengths, challenges, and recommendations identified by the self-study committees, including members of the Student Government Association, the Academic Senate, the Executive and Administrative Staff Council, and the Steering Committee; thank you to all who provided written comments; thank you to those who attended open forums to discuss the self-study before the site visit; and thank you to every one who participated in the site visit.
The accreditation "resource room," with hard copies of many of the resources listed on the resource page of this web site, is on the third floor of Tod Hall. Thanks again to the entire University and broader community for your input, collaboration, and hard work. You're a terrific team!
