Adult Admission Requirements

Who is considered a non-traditional student?

A non-traditional student is any student who is 25 years old or older. Adults comprise 30 percent of the undergraduate population at Youngstown State University with approximately 3,000 on campus. Approximately 55 percent are female and 45 percent male.

A non-traditional student needs to have the following submitted:

An American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) score report is not required if the student has graduated from high school two or more years ago. If you are interested in playing a varsity sport, you must take the ACT or SAT.

Math and English placement tests.

All incoming freshmen, whether a traditional or non-traditional, are required to complete the English and Math placement exams
