Youngstown State University is located on a spectacular 140-acre campus in Youngstown, Ohio. The city of Youngstown is the center of a metropolitan area of 600,000 and is conveniently located within 75 miles of both Cleveland and Pittsburgh. The University�s student body of nearly 13,500 and a student-faculty ratio of 20:1 provides for the personal touch often associated with a much smaller institution. The University is committed to keeping its doors open to all who seek higher education and is equally dedicated to providing students every opportunity to enrich their minds, develop their creativity and problem solving abilities, and become productive, informed, conscientious citizens of the world.

Youngstown State University is one of only a few comprehensive metropolitan institutions in Ohio that provides associate, baccalaureate, and graduate instruction and continuing education in one location. YSU can provide you with candidates from over 100 undergraduate and 34 graduate degree programs. The university offers a broad curriculum in the School of Graduate Studies and six academic colleges: Business Administration, Education, Fine and Performing Arts, Health and Human Services, Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, and Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics.

Recruiting at YSU

The Office of Career & Counseling Services utilizes the Penguin Link to provide employers, students, and alumni with 24/7 access to our recruiting services. To access recruiting services, employers must have an active organizational profile in our database. Recruiting options for promoting employment opportunities available with your organization and for recruiting potential candidates for employment include:

Online Job Postings. Announce job and internship opportunities in your organization through the Penguin Link at no charge to employers. Upon posting, position announcements are immediately accessible to the YSU community.

Web Resume Access. A free service that allows employers to search resumes of YSU students and alumni.

On-Campus Interviews. Visit campus to conduct interviews for full-time professional and internship positions in our interviewing facilities. Interviewing times are available throughout the year, and your visit will be actively promoted to the university community.

“Just in Time” Recruiting. Satisfy your unexpected or last minute recruiting needs through individualized services such as pre-screening of candidates, promotion of positions through faculty and university networks, building of interview schedules, and scheduling of immediate campus interviews with little advanced notice.

Career Fairs. Increase your organization�s visibility and engage in face-to-face contact with YSU students and graduates. The Office of Career and Counseling Services sponsors career fairs throughout the academic year in addition to collaborating with academic departments and regional universities on collective recruiting events.

Information Sessions. Host an information session on campus to promote your organization or upcoming recruiting date. Our staff will make the arrangements and will promote these information sessions to appropriate candidates.

Information Tables. Schedule an information table in high traffic areas to increase your organization�s visibility, distribute recruiting literature, and informally meet potential candidates.

Guest Speaker Opportunities. Connect with potential candidates and promote your organization by volunteering as a guest speaker for workshops or academic classes.
