Center for Student Progress

At the Center for Student Progress, located near Dunkin Donuts, we understand how college students learn. It's a powerful thing to figure that out and we love helping students with that process! Come here to unleash the power of learning in a judgement free zone.

Services we offer:

  • Academic Coaching

Our coaches work one-on-one with students in developing learning strategies that work for the individual student. Everyone learns differently, and your academic coach knows how to help you understand the process of learning and how to go deeper with your learning. Coaches will also work on specific skills such as test taking, test anxiety, note taking, text reading, etc.

To request a coach, follow the link on the right side of the page.

  • Adult Learner Services

We offer extended hours (until 6:00 pm and later by appointment) with the adult learner in mind. We also have academic coaches on staff that were adult learners and therefore understand the unique struggles of juggling a job, kids, and school at the same time. If you'd like to request a coach, see the button to the right side of our web page and let us know you'd like to work with an experienced adult coach.

  • Disability Services

Disability Services provides assistance for students with disabilities. (Faculty and Staff requiring services should call Human Resources at ext. 3122.) We strive to create an accessible community where people are judged on their ability, not their disability. We are also committed to fostering a positive attitude toward individuals with disabilities.

  • Multicultural Services/Summer Bridge Program

Offers support, guidance, advocacy and resources to multicultural students. We begin by offering a one week Summer Bridge Program, run by Mr. Mike Beverly, to extend the service to "Bridge and Beyond". Throughout the first year, students are paired with an academic coach that provides holistic support.

  • Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction, abbreviated SI, is a series of informal study sessions led by an SI leader. There are three regularly scheduled one hour sessions a week. The best part is they're free and they guarantee great study time. SI starts the first week of classes, so check out the schedule* to see if your classes support SI.
