Application Checklist

This is a summary of the application requirements. You may use this list to make sure that all of the necessary documents have been sent to YSU's Undergraduate Admissions Office.

  • A completed and signed International Undergraduate Admission Application form.
  • A check or money order in the amount of $30 (U.S. funds) payable to "Youngstown State University" for payment of the application fee. Please make sure your name is on the check.
  • The original or certified copy of the official transcript or academic record for each high school you have attended. If relevant, an original or certified copy of school certificate, certificate of education or matriculation examinations. (Required of all applicants with less than one year of full time higher education.)
  • The original or certified copy of the official transcript or academic record and, if relevant, the diploma, certificate, or diploma statement for each college or university attended.
  • A certified English translation of each transcript, academic record, diploma, certificate, or degree statement if the originals are not issued in English.
    Official TOEFL or MELAB scores, if required. (Have an official score report sent directly to YSU by the testing agency.)
  • Official syllabi that briefly describe each subject studied or each course taken at each college or university you have attended or are currently attending.
  • A completed Affidavit of Support for International Undergraduate Students form for each sponsor and all required supporting bank statements, employer's letters, and income tax certified copies.
    It is recommended that you make a copy of your application materials for your records. All application materials should be sent air mail to the address on page 1.
