Mountains of China
Faculty:  Dr. Ray Beiersdorfer, Geological and Environmental Sciences 
Approximate Dates: Late December –Mid-January
Projected cost per participant, excluding tuition and fees: $3,250.00
Students will apply basic geological and anthropological concepts to the landscape and human history of China. We will visit three famous mountains of China (Huangshan, Wuyishan and Lushan), the world famous karst region of Guilin, Xi’an, and Beijing.

Business Field Study Tour to London and Dublin

Approximate Dates: January 3-13, 2008

Activities may include company visits, lectures by industry and government officials, and university representatives.

Tropical Ecology in the Bahamas
Faculty:  Dr. Ron Shaklee 
Approximate Dates: Spring Enrollment; March 10-March 17
Projected cost per participant, excluding tuition and fees: $1200
Students will engage in a group field research effort while in residence at the Gerace  Research Centre on San Salvador Island in the Bahamas. This class meets one hour per week prior to departure for the Bahamas.

Eligibility:Students must be members of the YSU University Honors Program OR have a  minimum 3.4 overall GPA. Enrollment is limited to twelve students.

Geology Field Investigations in the Bahamas

Course overview: Seven days of coastal geology, marine science, and environmental investigations on a remote and pristine tropical island. This is the18th consecutive year of the course offering. Several publications have resulted from research activities of past participants.

Mayan Archaeology
Faculty:    Dr. Matt O’Mansky, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Sociology and Anthropology
Approximate Dates:
Projected cost per participant, excluding tuition and fees: $1200.00
Students will gain intensive archaeology field experience while visiting the ancient ruins and modern sites of the Maya.
Course Number(s): ANTHR 3778 (variable credit -- up to 9 hours)
Eligibility requirements for participation: Open to all students; students who have taken ANTHR 3702 (Archaeology) or other advanced courses in anthropology and archaeology will be given priority.  Enrollment is limited.
