Phon-A-Thon
The YSU Phon-A-Thon is a unique and fun-filled event. The Phon-A-Thon runs 8 weeks during the spring semester and affords any group, department, team or college an opportunity to get hands on experience in the world of fund raising as volunteer callers for the Annual fund.
What makes the YSU Phon-A-Thon special and different from any other is the Phon-A-Thon Scholarship Program, which is authorized from the Office of the President and funded from the General Scholarship Fund through the Annual Fund. This program is specifically designed as an incentive for the paid-callers (as opposed to volunteer callers) to maximize the number and amount of pledges to the Annual Fund through our telemarketing efforts. The photos you see on this page are some of our scholarship winners from the 2009 Phon-A-Thon. By meeting certain goals and securing a set dollar amount in fulfilled (paid) pledges, these students earn various scholarship amounts to help offset tuition. The average Phon-A-Thon Scholarship is $1,500.
The 2010 Phon-A-Thon is currently being planned for the spring semester. Please contact Jacci Johnson-Daniel in the Office of University Development for more information.
