Web 2.0 - The Green Solution:
How New Technology is Changing Distance Education
The conference will provide many opportunities for interaction between Distance Education administrators, coordinators, and faculty.
The Distance Education Conference encourages the following types of submissions in any area that is related to the theme.
• Completed research papers
• Abstracts of completed or proposed research (the abstract for proposed
research should include the research objectives, proposed methodology, and
a discussion of expected outcomes)
• Research done by students
• Case studies
• Work-in-Progress Reports or Proposals for Future Research
• Incomplete research or ideas for future research in order to generate
discussion and feedback
• Reports on Issues Related to Teaching
• Reports related to innovative instruction techniques or research related
to teaching
• Panel Discussions
Abstract Submission Deadline: August 28, 2009
Topic Areas
• Technologies used in on-line courses
• Problems relating to the teaching of distance courses
• Course design and policy
• Best practices
• Problems with multiple or large section offerings
• Program assessment
• Student assessment
Format of Presentations
Each presentation will be given one 45-minute period. A 10-minute period
will follow each presentation to allow time for discussions. The following
supplies
will be provided:
• IBM compatible computer with CD-ROMs, DVD’s, and USB “Flash” drive
capability
• Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, and Plug-in for MML are installed
for your convenience
• Overhead computer projector
• Internet connection
• ELMO
• SMART Board
• White board with markers and erasers
Submitting a Proposal
The conference will provide many opportunities for interaction between Distance Education administrators, coordinators, and faculty.
