Youngstown State University's Affirmative Action Plan is an executive-level directive from the President to the University community. The following statements represent the University's policies on affirmative action and equal opportunity. All faculty, administrators, staff and external contractors are expected to support and comply with the requirements of this document.

Youngstown State University's administration is committed to fully complying with civil rights law, rules and regulations. Consequently, it is the policy of the University to provide equal opportunities for all persons in the University community.

The Director of Equal Opportunity & Diversity is responsible for the implementation of YSU’s Affirmative Action Program. Department heads and employees who hold supervisory positions are also responsible for making YSU’s Affirmative Action Program a reality.
