The Office of Equal Opportunity and Policy Development is responsible for the review and development of University polices and University compliance with state and federal equal opportunity laws and regulations, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. This responsibility includes:
- Development and implementation of the University’s Affirmative Action Plan.
- Monitoring of University Policies.
- Provision of training and educational programs in the areas of affirmative action, equal employment, discrimination, and harassment.
- Investigation of complaints of discrimination or harassment, including student complaints of sexual violence, whether filed by, or against faculty, staff, or students.
The Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Policy Development serves as the University’s Title IX Coordinator.
The Office of Equal Opportunity and Policy Development reports directly to the Vice President and General Counsel of the University.
