into one of the most unique American college fraternities.

United States. A majority of Alpha Phi Delta men are campus
leaders. Many of Alpha Phi Delta's nearly 20,000 lifelong
members have become top leaders in all facets of life.
The

Twelve
Veterans of the Korean War founded Zeta Phi Fraternity in
1956. The Men were older than many students and they wanted
to belong to a fraternity, but they were not willing to
undergo the childish antics that were part of the existing
fraternities' pledge programs. Before long, the group occupied
a house on Park Avenue and adopted a constitution and the
motto, "Cerebrum et Lacertus," or "Brains
and Brawn." Black and gray were the official colors.
By 1964, president Edward Knoop was promoting the idea of
national affiliation, and Phi Kappa Tau became the leading
candidate. Director of chapter development, Thomas C. Cunningham
made a personal visit to Zeta Phi on May 5, 1965, and soon
thereafter the group voted to work toward a Phi Kappa Tau
charter. The installation took place on January 29, 1967,
with National Counselor, Mel Dettra taking the place of
the National President, Warren Parker, who was caught in
a Chicago snowstorm. Charter president, Ronald L. Wasiluk
accepted the Gamma Pi charter from National Secretary, Jack
L. Anson. Since that time, Phi Kappa Tau, Gamma Pi has become
a pillar of strength for the community and Youngstown State
University. They Boast of members who have held many prestigious
positions at the University and who remain active and involved
in all aspects of the community.

Tau Gamma Fraternity or "Sig Tau" is a U.S. all-male
college social fraternity founded on June 28, 1920 at University
of Central Missouri (then known as Central Missouri State
Teachers College). The fraternity was born out of the desires

brotherhood and citizenship, they would inspire thousands
of men from all parts of the country who would follow in
their footsteps.
In

at Central Missouri State Teachers College, the fraternity
created new chapters on the campuses surrounding teachers
colleges (at the time also called "normal schools").
Since the fraternity's beginnings in 1920, they have spread
