WHAT IS THE INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL?

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) serves the needs of its member fraternities through advocacy, collaboration, and education. Through the enrichment of the fraternity experience; advancement and growth of the fraternity community; and enhancement of the educational mission of Youngstown State University the IFC works to ensure that fraternities can operate in an environment conducive to their success. The IFC is also committed to enhancing the benefits of fraternity membership.

The Youngstown State University Interfraternity Council is the governing body of all NIC (North-American Interfraternity Conference) Fraternities on campus. The Interfraternity Council or IFC meets weekly to discuss the planning of IFC events such as recruitment and community service activities. Also, IFC works together as a group to make sure all fraternities are supporting each chapter’s events and programs.
