Welcome to the Honors Program at Youngstown State University. The
program continues to strive to meet the needs of the high achieving
students on the campus of Youngstown State University. The program
attracts approximately 350 students each year, who participate by
taking honors courses, getting involved in honors student organizations
and completing volunteer activities. The program, which began in
1977, creates a community of intellectual excellence. Exceptional
students are brought together from diverse disciplines and challenged
with extraordinary courses and learning experiences outside the
classroom. These opportunities enrich their academic and social
experiences at Youngstown State University. Upon completion of the
program requirements, those graduating will be recognized with the
Honors Diploma and a special notation on their transcript.

at the university should consider participating in the Honors Program.
It is not about "doing more work," it is about going beyond
traditional expectations and getting more for your money. Honors
