Mission Statement for the Office of Institutional Research & Policy Analysis
at Youngstown State University
The Office of Institutional Research & Policy Analysis (IRPA) is committed to
collecting, organizing, maintaining, interpreting and disseminating
relevant data to support the University's academic and non-academic
management, operations, decision-making and planning functions,
as well as overall assessment of institutional effectiveness.
This mission is accomplished through extensive development,
updating and maintenance of sophisticated computer programs that access, manipulate and analyze institutional and IR-created data bases, and through the creation of resulting reports that summarize, graphically illustrate and interpret institutional outcomes.
Following is a brief but not all inclusive list of the types
of information available through the Office of Institutional
Research & Policy Analysis: student performance including retention and graduation rates; course and program enrollments; faculty workload, demographics, salaries and position analyses; staff demographics; comparisons with peer institutions; and campus and state-wide institutional performance evaluations.
