Eddie Dickens is back, once again. This time he has to go to America to fix a problem in the family owned newspaper, Terrible Times. Eddie's partner on the ship is Lady Constance Bustle who has accompanied many people, but they have all "unfortunately" died. On the ship he brought someone with him that he never knew, Even Madder Aunt Maud. She came with Eddie in his trunk, and you guessed it her stuffed stoat Malcolm came too. They had an idea in order to get her out of hiding, shiny things! They had one very shiny thing on board, a diamond, a Dog Bone Diamond! She found it and it rolled off deck, but there was someone who caught it someone who Eddie has met before, Swags. Eddie met Swags in the second book of the Eddie Dickens Trilogy. Swags caught the diamond and that night as Eddie was with Powder Monkey they saw Lady Buslte walking towards Swags and they had a little argument. Unfortunately the captain, first mate, Eddie, Powder Monkey, and Swags went over board. Lady Bustle told Eddie where she was going to put the diamond and he remembered. He remembered real well. I really enjoyed this book because it was full of adventure and it felt like you were part of Eddie's odd ball family. I would recommend this book for middle school students. ~ Ashley Aldan, grade 6, Boardman Center Middle School
