Hole in My Life

Jack Gantos

Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2002

Hole in My Life by Jack Gantos is appropriate for High School students as reading material because we can relate to many aspects of this book.  Some of the same problems are faced that we face with in today’s world.  These problems include trying to find our identity, finding out what we want to do in out life, and trying to find some ways to make some fast money.  The book content use wasn't vulgar at all, although it did have cussing.  The book had no words that teenagers don’t use today.  I would recommend Hole in My Life to a friend if I see they’re heading down the wrong road because, more than likely, they will end up going through everything to a certain degree that Jack wrote about in the book.  Overall, Hole in My Life by Jack Gantos leaves nothing to be desire.
