Government Information |
| On the Web |
| Government information on the internet is growing at a
phenomenal rate. Fortunately, there are a number of powerful search
tools to assist you in locating a particular government information
resource. GPO ACCESS GPO Access is a service of the U.S. Government Printing Office that provides free electronic access to a wealth of important information products produced by the Federal Government. The information provided on this site is the official, published version and the information retrieved from GPO Access can be used without restriction, unless specifically noted. This free service is funded by the Federal Depository Library Program and has grown out of Public Law 103-40, known as the Government Printing Office Electronic Information Enhancement Act of 1993. (from "About Us--GPO Access")
Google UncleSam Many online documents are accessible through our OPAC (online public access catalog) Search for government documents the same way you would search for a book--title, keyword, agency or subject, then limit the search results to Government Documents. OhioLINK

Research Service Reports The Congressional Research Service (CRS) serves as the public policy research arm of Congress, and works exclusively for Members, their committees and staff. CRS does not provide direct public access to the numerous reports it produces each year, although some Members, as well as several non-profit groups, post a select group of the reports on their Web sites. In the past, citizens who wished to view these reports had to request them from their Member of Congress. The University of North Texas Libraries online archive of CRS reports will help greatly in providing permanent public access to this vital information, by serving as a one-stop gateway to these resources.
