Budget Advisory Council sets priorities

The YSU Budget Advisory Council has resumed meeting this semester to help shape the university’s fiscal year 2018 budget.

The 18-member committee consists of representatives from faculty, staff, students and administration, including the chair and vice chair of the Board of Trustees.

The council is charged with helping set priorities and achieve goals outlined in the YSU 2020 Strategic Plan. It serves in an advisory capacity to President Jim Tressel regarding budget and funding issues. Council members communicate to and provide feedback from their various constituent groups across campus.

“One of our main goals is to open the lines of communication across campus and increase transparency as it relates to funding issues and the development of the university budget,” Neal McNally, vice president for Finance and Business Operations and a member of the council.
