Business college offers free VITA tax prep

Youngstown State University’s Lariccia School of Accounting and Finance is providing trained business students and professional volunteers to offer the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

VITA offers income tax preparation and e-filing at no charge to local residents and hands-on experience to skilled business students. The program is offered in computer labs on the first floor of Williamson Hall at YSU through April 8. Williamson Hall is located on 221 North Hazel Street between Rayen Avenue and Wood Street:

Saturday, Feb. 4, Super Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 11, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 18, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, March 4, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, March 18, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, March 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, April 8, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Taxpayers should bring Social Security card; photo ID; health care verification and/or forms; wage and earnings statements (Form W-2) from all employers; interest, dividend and investment/stock sales statements (Forms 1099); a copy of last year’s tax return if available; and other relevant information about income and expenses.
