Meet the Marching Pride set for August 26 at Stambaugh Stadium

Marching Pride performance

The YSU Marching Pride kicks off the 2017-18 season with “Meet the Marching Pride”, a meet and greet opportunity for the community, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 26 at Stambaugh Stadium. This will be followed by their first halftime performance of the year at the YSU-Pitt game, Saturday, September 2 at Heinz Field, Pittsburgh.

“The Marching Pride welcomes over 170 members to campus this fall,” said Brandt Payne, Director of Athletic Bands. “We’re excited to host Penguin fans for ‘Meet the Marching Pride’ to get a head start on the Penguin football season opening on September 2.”

During “Meet the Marching Pride”, patrons will be treated to a preview of the music the YSU Marching Pride will perform during Penguin Football games this fall as they give their first public performance of the year. In addition, the Band will be perfecting their drill design so those in attendance will have an opportunity to see how a marching band functions on the field.

The event is free and open to the public, although a free-will donation to support the Marching Pride will be accepted.
