So you’re working on putting together a flyer for an event on campus, but you’re not sure what YSU logo to use. Wonder no longer. The Office of Marketing and Communications recently released the university’s new Visual Identity Standards Guide, a handy, easy-to-read resource that everyone on campus should use when creating anything that is visually representing YSU. “By following these guidelines, we as a community can produce consistent visual elements, which strengthen our brand, messaging and identity to our audiences,” said Ross Morrone, director of Marketing. The standards, developed with the help of several departments and graphic artists on campus, are part of a 21-page guide that includes instructions on everything from the use of university and college logos, wordmarks and seals to the appropriate way to use the Pete the Penguin image. “This is a resource for graphic designers and anyone in the campus community undertaking print or online projects representing YSU,” said Angela Ireland, Advertising and Publications coordinator. “By implementing and enforcing the use of consistent visual elements, we will strengthen the YSU brand and reinforce the high-quality, professional work being done on campus.” Morrone noted that the guide is “a dynamic, living document” and that there will be future releases with updated and additional standards that include everything from communication standards to social media.
