STEM and Williamson Colleges host internship and co-op appreciation event

Youngstown State University's College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and Williamson College of Business Administration host the third annual Ohio Internship and Co-op Appreciation Day 5:15 p.m. Friday, April 7, before the “Red and White” YSU spring football game.

Students, faculty, staff and employers involved in the colleges’ internship programs are invited.

In 2015, Gov. John Kasich signed into law a bill designating an annual Ohio Internship and Co-Op Appreciation Day, and this event marks the second year in a row YSU’s STEM and WCBA will host an appreciation gathering.

“The idea is to celebrate and raise awareness of the value of internship and co-op opportunities in our state and to promote the creation of more internship and co-op programs at businesses throughout the state,” said State Sen. Bill Beagle, chair of the Senate Workforce and Economic Development Committee.

The invitation-only event at Stambaugh Stadium will include food, beverages, games and networking.

Companies interested in getting involved with the STEM or WCBA internship programs should contact Sherri Hrusovski, slhrusovski@ysu.edu, or Christina Costello, clcostello01@ysu.edu.
