Student Awards Banquet April 26

Several dozen students will be recognized at the annual Youngstown State University Student Awards Banquet Thursday, April 26, in Kilcawley Center on campus.

The event, sponsored by Student Government, Student Experience and Student Activities, includes the presentation of all student and organizational awards for the 2017-18 academic year, including the AVI Leadership Scholarships, Hirsch-Satrum Leadership Scholarships, Emerging Leader Program recognition, Student Government’s Awards, Presidential Mentors.

The ceremony concludes with the awarding of YSU Pin Awards. The award, started in 1948, recognizes up to five graduating seniors annually who have achieved academic success and demonstrated outstanding leadership, motivation and creativity in university and community activities.

The deadline is Tuesday, April 24, for faculty and staff to purchase tickets to attend. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Penguin Xing on the second floor of Kilcawley Center, next to the Watson-Tressel Reading Lounge. Penguin Xing is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday thru Saturday.
