Students awarded ACE scholarships

Youngstown State University’s Association of Classified Employees union has awarded three students with scholarships for their excellence as student employees.

Patrick Smith, Music Education major; Veronica Peavy, Special Education major; and Brandon Cantwell, Journalism major each received the 2023 scholarship.

ACE awards this scholarship to full-time students who have a 3.0 GPA, have completed 30 semester hours and are employed by YSU as a student employee, working on campus with ACE members. Awards are based on financial need.

To apply, students must submit two letters of recommendation from current ACE members and an essay.

The scholarship was established in 2003 as an endowed scholarship through the YSU Foundation to provide financial assistance to student employees. Donations to the scholarship can be sent to the ACE Scholarship Fund at the Associated School Employees Credit Union.
