Sunday, Jan. 22 through Friday, Jan. 27. John Scacchetti, a Youngstown native who has starred on Broadway and national touring shows, visits YSU’s Department of Theater and Dance. Scacchetti will teach master classes in dance technique, lead question-and-answer sessions about the “business of the business” and conduct musical theater choreography sessions for YSU students. Monday, Jan. 23, 6 p.m. Ninety-six sophomore nursing students at YSU receive their “white coats” during a ceremony in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus. White coat ceremonies are typically a ritual at medical schools. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing, however, has started to promote the ceremonies as nursing students transition into their clinical studies.

Wednesday, Jan. 25, 12:15 p.m. The YSU Dana School of Music, in collaboration with the Butler Institute of American Art, presents a musical theater recital as part of the Music at Noon series at the Butler. The weekly concerts are free and open to the public and parking is free at The Butler.

Wednesday, Jan. 25, 7 p.m. Joe Uehlein of the Labor Network for Sustainability opens the spring semester Lecture Series on Energy and the Environment. The lectures, sponsored in part by the James Dale Ethics Center, are 7 p.m. Wednesdays in Room B112 of Cushwa Hall on campus. The talks are free and open to the public.

Thursday, Jan. 26, 7 p.m. Green Bay takes on the women’s Penguins in the Horizon League basketball match-up in Beeghly Center. The Penguins also play Milwaukee at home 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, as part of the doubleheader with the men’s team. The men play Saturday, Jan. 28, 7 p.m. against Cleveland State.

Saturday, Jan. 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Williamson College of Business Administration at YSU hosts a showcase for prospective business majors in Williamson Hall on Hazel Street on the YSU campus.
