YSUpdate newsletter earns Gold Award in national contest
The publication earned a Gold Award, a designation recognizing newsletters in the top 5 percent nationally.
The newsletter also received a Silver honor from the Education Advertising Awards, sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report.
Meanwhile, the YSU Magazine received a Merit Award in the Educational Advertising Awards contest, as well as a Merit Award in the Service Industry Advertising Awards competition.
The Collegiate Advertising Awards is an elite program recognizing universities for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions. YSUpdate competed against newsletters from schools with enrollments of 10,000 to 20,000 and was selected among 900 entries from the United States and Canada.
Submissions were reviewed by a national panel of industry experts. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.
“Representing all areas of communications, media, marketing, advertising and promotions, the Collegiate Advertising Awards program contained some of the best projects arguably in the world,” a CAA news release said.
