Penguin Productions was established on the campus of Youngstown State University to create, promote, organize and produce student and community-oriented events. The committee consists of students who are looking to gain experience in the live entertainment industry and advisers who volunteer their time and ideas to provide the student population with special large-scale events. Penguin Productions has brought in national acts such as Augustana, Ludacris, Sugarland, Danity Kane, Josh Kelley, Ryan Cabrera, Matt Nathanson, Third Eye Blind, Goo Goo Dolls and Wiz Khalifa .
Penguin Productions is proud to present this year’s May Day 2012 artist Andy Grammer at the Rec 5 area next to Pete’s Place on Thursday, May 3rd, 2012. With a current YSU ID, students only can gain access to the show in the Rec 5 area
Andy Grammer emerged as one of the biggest success stories in the music business. He performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Live with Regis & Kelly. He has shared the stage with Taylor Swift and Colbie Caillat, and he was the first male pop star since 2003 (Jason Mraz) to reach the Top 5 at Adult Pop Radio on his first single, “Keep Your Head Up”, which is now a certified Gold Record quickly approaching Platinum. Get your tickets before it’s too late, because this show is sure to be a hit!

About Penguin Productions
Penguin Productions is an organization designed to create, promote, organize and produce YSU Student- and Community-oriented events and activities tailored to fulfill student identified needs and preferences. It consists of a group of Board Advisors from various departments throughout YSU and, at its core, highly-motivated Student Board Members who work with and through the Advisors in bringing events to completion. The Student Board Members gain invaluable real-world experience in the design and production process of major events as well as improving their networking skills and resume.
At its inception, Penguin Productions will be heavily responsible for research and the canvassing of YSU students to find out what events and/or activities the campus population is most interested in. They will then analyze those results and determine a timeline of events for the Spring ’07 semester. The organization is a great opportunity for students who want experience working with committees such as those they might encounter following graduation from YSU.
