Creating Picture Perfect Penguins provided
a valuable learning experience for Libertys art students.
After choosing styles in art history for their theme, the Art
III classes researched a variety of famous artists and recognizable
paintings to combine into one composition for their penguin. Pairs
of students were responsible for each painting represented. They
chose their favorite masterpieces such as Munchs The
Scream and Woods American Gothic, and
Mona Penguin, but were particularly excited to reinterpret
the Butlers own Snap the Whip. Although each
section was unique, the students were mindful of each others
goals and worked toward a unified design. They are proud and honored
to have had this opportunity to participate in such an exciting
community project.
