“In researching the emperor penguin in preparation for my design, I discovered that emperor penguins are smart, the largest of the species, social, and seem to have fun in their Antarctic lives despite the constant threat of danger. My concept of ‘The Wrapped Penguin’ is to cover it in strips of canvas that have been painted and/or stained and woven together – as a decorative covering – and to protect the penguin from harm and environmental hazard.”
