The Youngstown State University Poetry Center, through its yearly series of readings and other presentations, seeks to promote and celebrate the life of the written word.

All readings are free and open to the public.

Alexis Stamatis: A Fiction Reading

Alexis Stamatis has been called "One of the most gifted writers of his generation," (Françoise Noiville, Le Monde).  He is the author of eight novels and novellas as well as six collections of poetry. He has worked as a journalist, literary critic, and as an architect and has been steadily achieving an international presence. Stamatis’ novel, American Fugue, is the winner of the first international translation award from the National Endowment for the Arts, which is co-sponsoring his national American tour along with Etruscan Press and the NEOMFA.
