The Department of Campus Recreation is committed to providing advanced educational opportunities to the YSU community by offering professional certifications. Completion of these certifications can bring students professional opportunities and developed leadership skills while encouraging personal excellence and growth. Certifications regularly offered are; ISCA Yoga Ball, Zumba, FiTour Group Fitness Instructor, and SPINNING. Continuing education courses are regularly scheduled with the certifications.

For those just beginning an exercise program, these classes will teach you the fundamentals of each format |

For those exercising regularly, these classes will utilize additional choreography and move at a faster pace |

Group X Classes (Progression Based)
These classes are skill based, and participants will learn new activities in a progression style. Sign-ups are highly encouraged for these classes because space is limited, and they fill quickly. Instructional classes are indicated on the Group X schedule with an “ * ” and are FREE to current YSU students and Faculty/Staff Andrews members. Personal Training Certification Prep
Interested in becoming an ACE certified personal trainer? This nine-week clinic contains a detailed explanation of the knowledge, skills, and abilities you need to be a Personal Trainer and pass the American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer Certification Exam. Get the necessary information/study guidelines from a certified ACE personal trainer and Andrews Strength and Conditioning staff member. Register in the Andrews Office Suites between 8am and 8pm. Group Fitness Instructor Certification Preparation Clinic
Interested in becoming an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor?
