User Orientation
A general orientation introducing participants to the basic layout and proper use of the cardiovascular equipment and the selectorized, plate-loaded and free weight equipment.

This orientation offers various circuit training routines to individuals who enjoy the convenience of using a combination of selectorized machines, plate-loaded, and free weight exercises to achieve a full-body strength workout. Ask a Strength & Conditioning Staff member for details.

Special Needs Orientation
This orientation is geared to any individual who needs special consideration to workout. Exercises utilizing the major muscle groups will be explained and demonstrated to participants by a trained staff member. Ask a Strength & Conditioning Staff member for details.

Extra Equipment Orientation
This orientation will provide participants with an understanding of how to utilize the equipment located in our Ab/SPINNING area. Exercises are included for the following pieces of equipment: Reebok Core Board, Resist-A-Ball, Bosu, Medicine Ball, and Body Bar. Ask a Strength & Conditioning Staff member for details.

Ab Express
Ab Express is a 15-minute exercise class to include as part of your daily workout. This free class will focus on the core muscles, including those of the lower back and abdominal areas. Ask a Strength & Conditioning Staff member for details.

Personal Training
Personal training offers you the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a Certified Personal Trainer to develop a fitness program specifically designed to fit your needs and interests. Our focus is on education so you are able to continue your exercise program independently and enjoy the lifelong benefits of regular physical activity. Ask a Strength & Conditioning Staff member for details and prices.

Fitness Clinics and Workshops
The Department of Campus Recreation holds clinics and workshops on various specialized topics to increase awareness of trends in exercise and fitness-related areas. Clinics and workshops are free to students and members of the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center, and topics vary every semester. Please register for these clinics and workshops in the administrative offices of Andrews Student Recreation & Wellness Center. Boot Camp Competition

Boot camp workouts are efficient because they work your entire body by going continuously from one exercise to another with no rest. The workouts involve exercises like pushups, jumping jacks, crunches and other body weight exercises. In this competition you will be pushed to the max while learning some fun and exciting exercises. Basic Strength Training Principles

You don’t have to be a professional athlete, bodybuilder or pop star to get extraordinary results. This comprehensive strengthening program will show you how to gain muscle mass and definition, strength, burn fat and improve your fitness all at the same time! You’ll safely learn all the basic exercises to start the foundation of your strength-training plan. A certified personal trainer will educate you on how to safely and effectively use the Andrews Student Recreation & Wellness Center equipment. Clinic will meet in the Andrews Conference Room. Hip-Hop Move & Groove

This clinic uses simple hip hop moves combined with upbeat music to keep you moving the whole time. Hip hop dancing is great exercise to get your cardio and strength workouts in, and have fun while doing them! The clinic includes a thorough warm-up, strength elements, hip hop progressions, and new hip-hop routines. Clinic will meet in the Andrews Conference Room. Strongman Clinic

Bench Press Competition

How strong do you think you are? Test your muscular strength at the third annual Andrew’s bench press competition! The competition will have two contests within it. How much you can lift and how many repetitions you can do.  Individuals will be grouped by weight and gender categories, and prizes will be awarded to the top winners. Get Out & Play: Outdoor Exercise Clinic
