Climbing Wall / High Ropes Course Agreement Download Required for using our climbing wall or high ropes course

The Department of Campus Recreation and Student Programming offers a variety of activities for the children of  YSU faculty and staff on Take Your Child to Work Day. Please complete the program registration form, photo release form and Climbing Wall/ Ropes course wavier and return them in person to the Department of Campus Recreation’s administration office. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact Linda at x 2240. The following activities and programs are for child of faculty and staff only:

Wall

Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center

Do you think you have what it takes to conquer Flad Mountain? Then this activity is for you. Children over 4 ft tall can challenge both their mind and body to see how far they can climb. Trained staff will be on hand to teach proper technique of climbing. Children must be accompanied by their parent/guardian in order to participate in this activity. Parent/guardians are welcome to participate. Pre-registration at the Rec Center is required by Tuesday, April 14th. No phone or fax registration. Forms can be found at www.ysu.edu/reccenter/. Key word Special Events. Contact Linda with questions at x 2240. Faculty/ Staff must have valid YSU ID to enter the facility. Exercise conducive clothing and shoes required. Bottled water only permitted in the Rec center- no food or drinks.

Session times include: 
10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 2:00, 2:30, 3:00 and 3:30.

High Ropes Course- 1:00 – 2:00pm

Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center- High Ropes Course

Children over 4 ft tall can have the opportunity to try the Adventure Rec high ropes course. Suspended off the ceiling above the basketball courts, the ropes course will excite children of all ages. Trained staff will be on hand to supervise children on course. Children must be accompanied by their parent/guardian in order to participate in this activity. Parent/guardians are welcome to participate. Pre-registration at the Rec Center is required by Tuesday, April 14th. No phone or fax registration. Forms can be found at www.ysu.edu/reccenter/. Children’s Games

Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center - Court D

Come have fun with the staff of the Department of Campus Recreation. During this activity, children of all ages will have the chance to participate in games and obstacles on court D. Children must be accompanied by their parent/guardian in order to participate in this activity.  Parent/guardians are welcome to participate. Call to sign up at (330) 941- 2240. Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, April 14th.  Call Linda at x2240 to register. Faculty/ Staff must have valid YSU ID to enter the facility. Exercise conducive clothing and shoes required.  Session times include:

11:00, 11:30, 2:00 and 2:30. 

Children’s Yoga

Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center - Studio

This playful class encourages self-expression as well as building social skills. Children will strengthen their bodies as they learn how to focus through breathing and relaxation techniques. Kids laugh; use their imagination and play, with yoga poses in this energy- releasing class. Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, April 14th.  Call Linda at x2240 to register. Parents and or Guardians are welcome to participate.  Exercise conducive clothing and shoes required.

Session times include:

11:00, 11:30, 2:00 and 2:30  

Fish Out of Water - Intro to Kayaking 10:30 – 11:00

Learn about the Department of Campus Recreation Kayaking program and how you and your child can learn more about this adventurous activity right here on YSU campus. . Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, April 14th.  Call Linda at x2240 to register. Parents and or Guardians are welcome to participate. 

Presidential Arcade: 10:00 – 4:00

Kilcawley Center - Presidential Suites

Stop by anytime and join the Campus Recreation Intramural Sports staff to play the latest video games such as Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, Halo, and more. Plus play games from the past such a Mario Brothers or Tetris.  In addition, challenge your child to old fashion board games while taking a break from work. There will be something for everyone.  

Self Defense Workshop: 11:15 – 12:15

Cushwa – 226

Taught by one of our YSU finest, this interactive 1 hour session will provide suggestions for improving one’s personal safety. This session is for children 13 years of age and older. Parents and or Guardians are welcome to participate. There are only 20 spots for this program. Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, April 14th.  Call Linda at x2240 to register.
