Tuesday: 10am - 3:30pm Wednesday: 12pm - 4:30pm Friday: 10am - 5pm WelLness ProgramsLocated in the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center, the Wellness Resource Center is the hub of fitness, health, and wellness information on campus. Computers are on hand to search the Internet for health tips, and a library of informational books and multimedia is available for research. Health educators are on staff to answer any questions and provide students, faculty, and staff with informational pamphlets on many important topics. Also, Table Talk presentations on various health issues are offered throughout the school year and are free to everyone. Stop by and check us out, or call with questions at (330) 941-2241. A Registered DietitianA Registered Dietitian (RD) is on staff to provide individual nutrition counseling session. Chyrstyna Zellers, RD, LD, is a nutritionist and clinical dietitian who holds professional membership in the American Dietetic Association and the Ohio Dietetic Association. She has special interests in weight management, diabetes management, sports nutrition, and optimal nutrition for good health and disease prevention. Our RD will be on hand to answer nutrition questions and provide information about recommended caloric intakes, combining your fitness and nutrition programs, and dietary intakes. The RD will also be present at special events to answer questions and provide take-home information. Call (330) 941-2241 for more information, or stop by the Wellness Resource Center to schedule an appointment. Fitness AssessmentsLooking to start an exercise program, but don’t know where to begin? Stop by the Wellness Resource Center and sign up for a total body fitness assessment given by trained personnel. These assessments will test the five components of fitness: cardio-respiratory endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, body composition, and flexibility. The test results will give you insight to your current status and information to make new fitness goals. Stop by the Wellness Resource Center, or call (330) 941-2241 with questions or to sign up. Table TalksTable Talk presentations are continuing this fall with new fitness, health, wellness, and nutrition topics. These informational sessions will give students, faculty, and staff at Youngstown State University the opportunity to obtain informational fliers, learn tips, Wellness Ways NewsletterExtra, extra; read all about it! Pick up a copy of the Wellness Resource Center’s monthly newsletter that contains updated information about what’s going on at the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center, healthy tips, and articles on fitness topics.
