Ways to Help - Internship Opportunities

Rich Center for Autism Has Internships!

To fulfill our mission The Rich Center for Autism is accepting placement applications for field or clinical experience from undergraduate and graduate students who have an interest in learning about individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

Our students range in age 2.5 years to 21 years and all are diagnosed with ASD and other co-existing conditions. Our school can offer direct experience with children on the spectrum and is considered a moderate to intensive site. We use the Unique Curriculum, which aligns with Ohio Content Standards and is similar to Ohio Extended Standards. In addition, we have behavior analysts who provide behavioral services to students and coaching to our teachers. Lastly, we provide nursing and related services in speech and occupational therapy

As a researched-based treatment facility, we value community-training opportunities; however, we must ensure the safety of our students and the integrity of our treatment implementation. To accomplish this, we ask our practicum students to adhere to a high standard of professionalism and consistency as mandated by The Rich Center for Autism and Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.

When Can I intern?

We are limited to the number of students we can accommodate and arrangements must be made at the beginning of the semester as placements are on a first come first serve basis.

What do I need to begin my internship?

Once you have decided to pursue a clinical or field experience at The Rich Center for Autism, call the center to make an appointment with a supervisor to go over the necessary paperwork you need to complete before you start.

You will not be able to start your internship, clinical or field experience without a completed Intern/Volunteer packet.

Paperwork includes:

  • A copy of class syllabi
  • Non-Conviction Statement
  • Medical Form
  • BCI Background Check
  • Volunteer/Observation/Intern Orientation
