SGA Meeting Minutes 01-14-2013

Cory called the meeting to order at 4:06 PM

Cory approved the minutes from last meeting

Cory moved to Executive Business

Cory gave the President’s Report

-New representative spots open! 2 for H&HS and 1 for BCOE

-Discussed and modified proposal for budget restructuralization with Jack Fahey. No longer asking for a fee, just asked for an increase of $35,000.00 each year for the next five years. Also made amendments regarding course fees and college fees used for student travel

-New restructuralization petitions passed out to body

-Welcome to Katie Palagano, grad intern at Student Activities  who will be attending SGA meetings

Cory concluded his report

Justen gave the Vice President’s Report

-We WILL be doing SGA tables this semester! Email Justen ASAP with availability

-Last Lecture Series will be done again this semester

-4 year guarantee update will be looked into by Academic Affairs committee this Spring

Catie gave the Vice President of Financial Affairs Report

-No appropriations were made over Winter break

-42 organizations have been funded to date (Approximately $22,600.00 used)

A.)   Red Box on campus

Motion to open discussion: 1^st Cory, 2^nd Elyse

-        Many students live on or near campus and the closest Red Box is on Gypsy/Belmont

-        Need to get support from additional student organizations

-        Should be located in a more convenient location near dorms where there is residential traffic, not in Kilcawley Center where mostly commuters pass through
