Academics: Fifty Seven Penguins Named to League Spring Honor Roll
Indianapolis, Ind. -- Fifty-seven Youngstown State
student-athletes were named to the
Horizon League's 2006 Fall Academic
Honor Roll, the league recently
released. Overall, a total of 504
league student-athletes made the
squad as Butler and UW-Milwaukee led
the way with 67 honorees. UW-Green
Bay was third with 60
student-athletes, while the Penguins
were just behind with 57.
To be named to the Honor Roll, a student-athlete must
participate in a league sport, have
completed three semesters at the
same institution and have a
cumulative grade-point average above
3.25 through Dec. 31.
Leading YSU's efforts were 10 members of the women's track
and field/cross country team's and
nine baseball players who named to
the Honor Roll. The league-champion
softball program was right behind
with eight.
The YSU student-athletes who made the Honor Roll in the
spring were:
