Thirty-Two Penguin Student-Athletes Earn Degrees This Spring
    Youngstown -- An impressive group of 32 student-athletes earned their degrees from Youngstown State University this Spring, while more than one third graduated with honors. Overall, a group of 12 student-athletes graduated Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude or Cum Laude and former women's basketball standout Jen Perugini was one of five students to be honored as a YSU Pin Award recipient.

Gina Abruzzino, Magna Cum Laude (Women's Golf), Andrea Bardy (Track & Field/Cross Country), Debbie Breunig (Track & Field/Cross Country), Matt Brouse, Summa Cum Laude (Football), Erin Carter (Swimming & Diving), Jason Coffey (Baseball), Casey Dick (Soccer), Tanner Dunlap (Football), Jordan Dunn, Summa Cum Laude (Swimming & Diving), Jameson Evans (Football), Diane Fellabaum (Soccer), Aaliyah Gillespie (Track & Field), Matt Gnacinski, Magna Cum Laude (Baseball), Cathy Hanek (Women's Basketball), Jenn Hartman (Softball), Amanda Howard (Swimming & Diving), Herb Jones (Football), Dana Juhnke (Volleyball), Catherine Krupko, Summa Cum Laude (Track & Field/Cross Country), Hannah Lawther, Magna Cum Laude (Soccer), Justin Martin (Football) Kelly Murphy, Cum Laude (Softball), Jen Perugini, Cum Laude (Women's Basketball), Brian Radakovich (Men's Basketball and Football), Derek Riker (Track & Field), Ashlee Russo, Summa Cum Laude (Women's Basketball), Justin Scholes (Football), Nick Smith, Cum Laude (Track & Field/Cross Country), Melissa Tarrant, Cum Laude (Women's Basketball), Nick Terracina (Football), Kiisha Warfield (Softball) and Josh Zarlenga, Summa Cum Laude (Men's Golf).
    The Sports Information office was well represented during the graduation ceremony on Saturday. Sports Information secretary Cindy Blevins and intern John Vogel (Mineral Ridge, Ohio) received their undergraduate degrees. Vogel graduated Summa Cum Laude. Also, former intern Terri Ramunno (Lowellville, Ohio) received her degree.
    Two other individuals who have helped the athletic department in other capacities graduated. Keith Logan Jr., who has handled football sideline parabolic duties for Clear Channel the past five seasons, and Shaylee Peckens, who has performed the National Anthem at football, men's and women's basketball games and the 2004 Horizon League Championship baseball game, graduated as well.
    Perugini was one of five Spring 2006 graduates to be a YSU Pin Award recipient, which annually recognizes up to five graduating seniors who have achieved academic success and demonstrated outstanding leadership, motivation, and creativity in university and community activities.
