Dickman,
Fraley Named to Horizon League Fall
Academic All-League Team
Indianapolis, Ind. -- Youngstown
State senior Jessica Fraley
(volleyball) and sophomore Justin
Dickman (cross country) were named
to the 2007 Horizon League Academic
All-League Team, the league
announced on Thursday.
Fraley, who owns a 3.87 grade-point average in
telecommunications, was named CoSIDA
Academic All-District IV Third-Team
in 2007 and earned Horizon League
All-League honors in 2007 and
All-Newcomer Team laurels in 2004.
She led YSU to a seventh-place
finish in the league standings and
to the most wins in league play
since joining the Horizon League in
2001.
Fraley notched her 1,000th career kill in the
Horizon League Quarterfinals and
ranked third in the league with 427
kills and sixth with 3.50 kills per
game.
Dickman, a 4.00 student in communications, placed
10th at the Horizon
League Championships to earn
second-team all-league honors and
finish first for YSU.
He was
also YSU's top finisher at the Notre
Dame Invitational when he ran a
personal-best 8K time of 26:11
and scored
in a total of five meets, finishing
first for YSU twice, second once and
third twice.
The Fall Academic All-Horizon League Teams are selected by
the Horizon League Sports
Information Directors and Faculty
Athletic Representatives. To be
eligible for consideration, nominees
must have
a cumulative grade-point average
(G.P.A.) of 3.20 or better on a 4.00
scale and completed at least one
year at a member institution having
completed at least one year at the
member institution having earned 24
semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour
credits. |
