Thirty-Six Penguin Student-Athletes Earn 4.0 GPA This
Spring

Continuing a string of outstanding
academic accolades, 36 Youngstown
State University student-athletes
completed the 2007 spring semester
with a 4.00 grade-point average, the
department announced on Monday (June
4).
The following 10 student-athletes
have a cumulative 4.00 grade-point
average through Spring Semester
2007: Jodi Bowlen (soccer), Stephen
Blose (football), Kelly Culbertson
(women's tennis), Justin Dickman (track
and field/cross country), Abigail
Drost (volleyball), Adam Kagarise
(track and field), Irena Lanc
(women's tennis), Tiffany
Leszunov (swimming), Todd Rowan (football) and Erin
Schindler (softball).
Along with the 10 listed above, the following 26
student-athletes attained a spring
semester grade-point average of 4.0:

The women's tennis team sports a department-best 3.58
grade-point average while the
women's golf team owns a grade-point
average of 3.39.
On whole, 161 student-athletes or 49 percent have a
cumulative grade-point average of
3.0 or better and nine programs
boast a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. |
