Penguins Land 11 on Academic All-Horizon League Winter Teams
Indianapolis, Ind. -- Youngstown State athletic teams
placed 11 individuals on the Horizon
League's Winter Sport Academic
teams, the conference announced on
Tuesday. The Guins tied for third
with Butler while UW-Green Bay and
UW-Milwaukee led the way with 12
student-athletes each being honored.
Penguins earned all-academic honors are Lauren Branson
(women's basketball), Becky Bertuzzi
(women's swimming), Bethany Anderson
(women's track and field), Jacquline
Clonch (women's track and field),
Lindsay Cobey (women's track and
field), Darcelle Formby (women's
track and field), Aaron Merrill
(men's track and field), Dan
Nemergut (men's track and field),
Michael Perri, (men's track and
field), John Shepard (men's track
and field) and Drew Weizer (men's
track and field).
Weizer is a three-time selection while Bertuzzi, Anderson and
Cobey are second-time selections.
The Winter Academic All-Horizon League Teams are selected by
the Horizon League Sports
Information Directors and Faculty
Athletic Representatives. To be
eligible for consideration, nominees
must have
a cumulative grade point average
(G.P.A.) of 3.20 or better on a 4.00
scale and completed at least one
year at a member institution having
completed at least one year at the
member institution having earned 24
semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour
credits. |
