Collegiate Baseball Picks Guins to Finish Third, Swenson to Repeat

    Youngstown -- The Collegiate Baseball newspaper has picked Youngstown State to finish third in the Horizon League and junior Aaron Swenson to repeat as the league's Pitcher of the Year in the publication's 2009 season preview.
    Sophomore Joe Iacobucci and junior newcomer Jacke Healey were also mentioned as top players to watch in the league Release

Baseball Signs Two Accomplished Student-Athletes to 2010 Squad

    Youngstown -- Infielder Zac McFarland and pitcher Bill Turosky have signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their academic and baseball careers at Youngstown State, Penguins head coach Rich Pasquale announced.
    McFarland has been recognized at elite camps for his swing, and Turosky was 8-1 last year in leading his team to the state semifinals. Release

YSU Baseball School to Host Comprehensive Winter Camps
Head Coach Rich Pasquale       Youngstown -- The Youngstown State baseball coaching staff will hold instructional camps on eight different dates during its upcoming winter camp series.
    Camp sessions will be held for players aged 6-17, beginning with a holiday camp on Dec. 29. The camp series will also feature an advanced showcase for pitchers and catchers and a session that will occur over four Saturdays in January. Release | Brochure
Healey's Late Homer Forces Red-White Series to End in Tie

    Niles, Ohio -- Junior Jacke Healey hit a game-tying, two-run blast in the seventh inning, and darkness forced the deciding game of the Youngstown State baseball team's Red-White World Series to end in a 6-6 tie.
    Healey cleared the second level of the left-centerfield wall to complete the White Team's rally. The White squad never led, but battled back from 4-1 and 6-4 deficits to tie the score. Release

Newcomers Lead White to 6-5 Win in Game One of World Series

Jason Reitenbach       Niles, Ohio -- Junior college transfer Greg Dissinger hit a two-run homer, and fellow JUCO newcomer Jacke Healey had three hits to lead the White Team to a 6-5 victory in game one of Youngstown State's Fall World Series on Sunday.
    John Koehnlein added three hits for the White squad to offset two Jason Reitenbach homers for the Red team. Release
