Swenson Throws Two-Hit Shutout,
Leads Valley League in ERA

-- Youngstown State senior pitcher Aaron
Swenson currently leads the Valley Baseball League
in ERA after another solid outing last week for the
Staunton Braves. Swenson was
named the league's South Division Pitcher of the
Week award for the second time this summer. His ERA
now sits at 0.97 to go along with his 4-0 record in
five starts. Swenson threw a
complete game, two-hit shutout against the
Haymarket Senators on July 3 to earn his latest
accolade. He allowed two unearned runs, struck out
eight and walked two as the Braves won 6-2.
Swenson also leads the Valley League with 33
strikeouts, 37.1 innings and a .163 batting average
against.
The Braves lead the Valley League with a 15-6 overall record and an 8-3 mark
in division play. |
