2009 | Sophomore

Played in 43 games and started 41 – 35 in left field and six at DH… Had a strong close to the year to up his average to .287 with 21 runs scored and 20 RBIs… Added nine doubles, two home runs and a career-high five steals in seven attempts… Batted .293 against Horizon League opponents during the regular season... Had 11 multi-hit games, five multi-RBI games and four multi-run games… Closed the season on a six-game hitting streak over which he batted .429 with four runs scored, five RBIs, four doubles and a homer… Had an RBI in five of those six games… Batted .314 and posted 19 of his 20 RBIs from March 17 to the end of the season… Had three hits three times… Went 3-for-5 and scored the winning run in the 10th at Butler (4/26)... Went 3-for-4 with a run scored and doubled against Toledo (5/12)... Had three hits and homered at Akron (3/18)... Drove in a season-best three runs at Wright State (3/21)… Also homered against Valparaiso (5/9)… Stole a career-best two bases and walked three times at UIC (3/27).

2008 (Freshman)

Earned Second-Team All-Horizon League and all-newcomer team honors... hit a team-high .369, becoming the first freshman to lead the Penguins in hitting since 2003 (Charles Schultz)... his average was also the highest by a freshman since Kendall Schlabach hit .406 in 2001... also led YSU in slugging (.500), on-base percentage (.440) and RBIs (33)... ranked seventh in the Horizon League in batting average... played in 52 games and started 49 - 46 in left field and three at designated hitter... hit .375 and slugged .525 in Horizon League contests... batted .358 against lefties, .376 against right-handers and .450 at home... had 17 multi-hit contests... hit safely in 16 straight games from April 25 to May 21... batted .460 (29-for-63) with eight doubles, 14 runs scored and 11 RBIs over the span... had four hits on two occasions - March 25 against IUP and May 13 against Kent State... also drove in a career-best four runs against IUP... scored a career-high four runs against the Golden Flashes... tied the school record for walks in a game with four at Milwaukee on May 16... was also 1-for-1 in the game to reach in all five plate appearances... hit his first home run at Xavier on March 15... also homered against UIC (April 12) and Wright State (May 4)... doubled twice in a contest four different times... had three assists in the outfield, all of which came over a three-game span... threw out a runner at the plate and another at second base in YSU's 5-4 win over Milwaukee at Miller Park (May 15)... also threw out a runner at third against Valparaiso in the Horizon League Tournament (May 21)... Redshirted in 2007.

Earned three letters for the Spartans ... earned First-Team All-Federal League and honorable mention Division I All-Ohio accolades as a senior ... participated in the National Amateur Baseball Federation World Series ... helped lead Boardman to sectional and district titles.
