Pitched in a team-high 27 contests, which is the third most
for a single season in YSU history... Went 1-5 with one save, a 5.58 ERA and 25
strikeouts in 40.1 innings... Was not scored upon in any of his final seven outings,
which spanned 7.2 innings... Struck out seven batters, did not issue a walk and
allowed just five hits during the span... Did not allow an earned run in 17 of his
outings... Walked just three batters in his final 17.2 innings compared to 15 in
his first 22.2... Had 18 strikeouts compared to his three walks in that span...
Posted his first collegiate win at Butler, striking out the side in the 10th (4/26)...
Earned his save by throwing a scoreless inning at VMI (2/27)... His first four losses
all come in one-run contests...Struck out a career-best four batters in 2.2 innings
at Kent State... Threw a career-long 3.1 innings at Duquesne... Went at least 2.2
innings six times... Went three innings in back-to-back outings at Marshall (3/15)
and against Pittsburgh (3/17) and didn't allow a run in either.
2008 | Sophomore
Played in 38 games and started 22 at first base... hit .227
with 11 runs scored, a homer and 11 RBIs... went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and hit
his first career home run against IUP (March 25)... doubled twice in a 3-for-4 performance
at Akron a day later... also had three hits and scored twice against UIC (April
11)... scored two runs three different times.
2007 | Freshman
Named to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team after hitting
.247 with 18 RBIs and 19 runs scored in 48 games ... started 43 games with 30 coming
at shortstop and 13 at second base ... batted .281 over his final 36 games ... was
a clutch hitter, batting .328 with runners on base and .341 with runners in scoring
position ... 10 of his 18 RBIs came with two outs, including a game-winning two-run
single in the ninth at Bowling Green (3/20) ... ranked second in the team in walks
(15), third in sacrifice bunts (5) and fourth in steals (4) ... posted three hits
on three occasions and a total of seven multi-hit games ... drove in two runs five
times ... had an eight-game hitting streak from March 17 to March 30 over which
he batted .393 with eight RBIs and six runs ... went 3-for-3 with two runs scored
and two RBIs against Notre Dame College (5/2) ... also had three hits and scored
twice at Pittsburgh (4/4), and had three hits against Cleveland State six days later
(4/10).
