2008: Named First-Team Academic All-District and Academic-All
Horizon League... overcame a slow start to bat .313 with 33 runs, 14
doubles, seven steals and a career-high three home runs... played in 54
games and made 53 starts - all at second base... hit a game-tying,
two-run, pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the ninth against UIC the
only game he appeared off the bench (April 11)... YSU went on to win in
the 10th inning on Eric Marzec's home run... led the Horizon League and
ranked 16th in the nation with 15 sacrifice bunts... also ranked ninth
in the league with 139 assists... his 67 hits ranked second on the
team... set career-highs in doubles (14), total bases (90), walks (18)
and slugging (.421)... hit .344 against southpaws and .368 at home...
tied for the team lead in multi-hit games with 19 (Sean Lucas)... had a
nine-game hitting streak from April 19 to May 2... batted .385 with 11
runs scored over the span... also hit safely in his final six games...
batted .407 over that stretch... also homered at Western Kentucky (March
29) and against Niagara (April 15)... went 4-for-4 with two doubles and
a career-high four runs scored against IUP (March 25)... also went

As the leadoff hitter for most of the season, he was one of the Horizon
League’s most-improved players ... after hitting .252 as a freshman,
Page hit .346 and banged out 74 hits, which is the sixth most in school
history ... became the second baseball player in YSU history to earn
Second-Team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors ...
also earned Academic All-Horizon League honors ... ranked 10th in the
Horizon League in batting average, seventh in hits and eighth in stolen
bases ... posted a team-best 24 multi-hit games ... a consistent
performer all season, he kept his batting average above .340 every game
after March 15 .... also a standout fielder, he committed just four
errors in 262 chances at second base ... hit .323 in Horizon League
games ... played in all 55 games and started 53 ... recorded hits in 45
games and reached base in 51 ... had six three-hit games, including a

chances while at second base for a fielding percentage of .989 ... had his
first career three-hit game against Akron, going 3-for-3 with two runs
scored (4/13) ... also went 2-for-5 with two RBIs against UW-Milwaukee
(5/22) ... added a 2-for-4 game with a run scored and an RBI against the
Panthers in the Horizon League Tournament (5/26) ... went 2-for-4 with two
runs scored against IPFW (4/3) ... turned in a 2-for-4 performance and
knocked in two runs against Toledo (4/19).
