2007 Summer: Finished with a 2.67 ERA and struck out 19 batters in 30.1
innings for the Stark County Terriers of the Great Lakes League.
2007: Set career highs in innings (79.2), starts (12), appearances (18) and
strikeouts (45) ... ranked 10th in the Horizon League in innings pitched ....
went 1-6 with a 6.55 ERA overall, but was much better in Horizon League games
with a 3.59 ERA ... had a 4.15 ERA in his six appearances out of the bullpen ...
after a rough first four outings, he had a 4.77 ERA over his final 14
appearances ... walked only eight hitters in his final 47 innings ... earned his
first win in his final start against Butler in an elimination game in the
Horizon League Tournament (5/24) ... allowed seven runs on 11 hits in eight
innings against the Bulldogs when a stiff wind contributed to a combined 27 runs
and 35 hits ... allowed one run on two hits in five innings against Malone but
did not factor in the decision ... held Cleveland State to one earned run in
nine innings in a game that YSU eventually lost in 14 innings ... allowed one
earned run on 6.1 innings at Cleveland State (5/19).
2006: Showed tremendous improvement in production from his freshman year,
appearing in 12 more games and throwing 45 2/3 more innings ... went 4-2 and
made 10 starts, including four against Horizon League opponents ... had a 3.68
ERA as a starter ... allowed two earned runs over a 22-inning span from March 18
to April 9 ... walked only 11 hitters in the season and only four in his final
39 1/3 innings ... picked up wins against West Liberty (3/23), Akron (4/4),
UW-Milwaukee (4/16) and Kent State (5/3) ... threw two scoreless innings against
the Hilltoppers for his first career victory ... allowed two unearned runs on
two hits against the Zips ... allowed four runs and struck out a career-high
four hitters in 6 2/3 for the win at UW-Milwaukee ... held Kent State to two
