Made 12 appearances, eight of which were in relief... Went 0-4 with a 9.87 ERA and eight strikeouts in 31 innings... Made his first start at James Madison, allowing three earned runs on nine hits in seven innings in a no decision (3/10)... Also made starts against Pittsburgh (3/17), at Duquesne (3/24) and at West Virginia (5/11)... Allowed three earned runs in five innings against the Mountaineers... Threw two innings of scoreless relief at UIC (3/27)... Also had a scoreless inning out of the bullpen against Marshall (4/29)... 2008 | Sophomore

Made 15 appearances, eight of which were starts... finished 2-3 with a 5.59 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 58 innings... ranked 45th nationally in walks allowed per nine innings (1.55)... did not walk more than two batters in any appearance... was 2-1 with a 3.81 ERA at home... named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week on April 7 following his seven shutout innings against Valparaiso... allowed only six hits and did not walk a batter while striking out seven against the Crusaders (April 5)... combined with Adam Kalafos for the Penguins' only shutout of the season... also defeated UIC, allowing two runs on five hits in six innings (April 12)... retired the first eight Flames he faced and allowed only two runners to reach scoring position through the first five innings... also struck out seven in his first outing of the season at Xavier (March 12)... allowed only two runs in five innings in a losing effort to the Musketeers... had his ERA at 3.15 after April 12 before having a 9.13 ERA over his final five starts... pitched at least five innings in six of his eight starts.

2007 | Freshman

Made 12 appearances out of the bullpen and four starts ... showed tremendous control, walking only three hitters over his final 35.1 innings and six total ... had a 4.50 ERA in his final 10 appearances ... had a 3.86 ERA over 16.1 innings against Horizon League opponents ... allowed two earned runs or fewer in 12 outings ... struck out a career-high four batters in two innings against Cleveland State (4/10) ... earned his first win in his first start at Pittsburgh, allowing four runs in six innings (4/4) ... also defeated Milwaukee, allowing three runs on five hits in 5.1 innings (5/12) ... allowed two earned runs or fewer in three of his losses, including not allowing a single earned run in two of them.

Was a four-year letterwinner and team captain one year ... earned First-Team All-Inter County League honors as a junior and senior ... named Second-Team All-ICL as a sophomore ... threw a no-hitter as a junior ... went 5-1 with a 0.45 ERA, giving up four earned runs in 62 innings as a senior ... also struck out 114 batters while only walking 11 ... played for Mink Financial in the Youngstown Class B league ... ranked fourth in ERA (1.28), fourth in batting average against (.209), first in innings pitched (49.1) and first in strikeouts with 71.
